Workplaces and duties
Wasatch Front chiller and grocery service differs from food-plant or southern Utah site work.
Systems and qualifications
Ask whether the job is applied chiller service, store rack maintenance, walk-ins, or plant refrigeration, and which controls it uses.
Territory and schedule
A Salt Lake City base may cover mountain or distant sites. Check travel, altitude, vehicle, and overnight work.
Before you apply
Confirm whether the employer expects HVAC and refrigeration work in the same role.
Match your experience to the refrigerant, equipment, controls, and repair duties named in the posting. EPA Section 608 certification matters when work could release regulated refrigerant from an appliance; it is not a blanket credential for every role.
For ammonia systems, ask about site training and safety duties. OSHA process-safety requirements depend on the system and its ammonia quantity; confirm the facility's requirements.
